As part of a summer music residency at the Orford Music Academy in Mont-Orford National Park, I follow the journey of a group of young musicians as they pursue their demanding studies and live together in the heart of the institution’s built and natural environment. The site is meticulously scrutinized in a formal search framing architectural elements that mark the ambiance of the place while situating it in a timeless zone. In this video, I want to focus on time. The time required to master a piece, and the time gap between the creation of the composition and the young musician who devotes himself or herself to it.
The musicians :
David Baik (violin), Annie Chen (violin), Liam Dugelay (piano), Joan Herget (cello), Noah Janowicz (cello), Jenny Jeong (piano), Kimberley Jeong (cello), Justin Li (violin), Elias Ludlam (flutes). Fiona Wu (piano).
